The shock absorber (called dampeners in engineering lingo) business started because I got backed into a corner with a customer with a Ferrari. The shocks on the back end of it were not serviced by Koni any more (too old and no parts) so I was left with the problem of repairing these things. I figured that I can take them apart and can’t hurt them any more than they already are, and maybe repair them. I did and repaired them to where they worked like they were suppose to work. Well, that customer told another guy who had the same problem, who told another who told another, and that as they say is that. The shock absorber business was born and that was 8 years ago. I started servicing Koni shocks and now do almost any brand that can be taken apart for service. Most all racing shocks can be taken apart along with the more expensive types for exotic cars. What most people do not understand is that shock absorbers should be serviced regularly as the oil inside will and does go bad from time and HEAT! As with any car, when these shocks do go bad or warn inside, they greatly affect the drivability and handling of any car, exotic or domestic. We now build custom versions of Koni (and others) for racing and street cars. We even install Koni workings inside of shocks that are no longer made to repair and improve these dampers. We can change the valving inside to suit your needs, plus the length and mounting applications. Plus, now we’re even custom building shocks that are now and have been for a long time, out of production and will not be built by the manufacture. An example of this, I’m now building shocks for Lamborghini Miura’s in the Koni brand. These were build around 1967 to 1971 but are almost impossible to find, even in what is called a core condition. So, after doing some homework and measuring an original set, I an now making a copy (almost) of the real deal. My Miura shocks I like to think is what would be built today, upgraded and better I think but still appearing stock. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
